THE WHOLE SERIES COMPRISES 76 photographs of an Italian soldier with the XV ('Blackshirt') Division departing Naples for Africa Orientale Italiana on October 22, 1936, followed by images ranging from November 15 to Christmas 1936 showing a Catholic mass at camp and service at Lake Haik, in Eastern Abyssinia near Desse; the collection tracks movements of the XV Division between Lake Hayk and Desse, with many images of daily military life; also includes photographs of Abyssinian women.
